Why an average and not a median?

The results source provides a median per age group. Across multiple groups and events combined there is no true median, only a weighted average of those medians. That is what we show, and we label it as such. On your poster we do compare against the true median of your category in your race.

How much does the roxzone matter?

The time between run and station counts fully towards your finish time, and that is where the biggest gap between recreational athletes and the front of the field sits. Roxzone: the forgotten minutes

Field times per station

What is an average Hyrox time?
The average finish time is 1:30:54 for Men Open and 1:37:41 for Women Open, measured on official results from the biggest events of the season.
Is sub-90 a good Hyrox time?
Sub-90 is faster than the average finish time for Men Open (1:30:54). But the comparison that means something is against your own category in your race, and that differs per event and age group.
Does a good Hyrox time depend on age?
Yes. Hyrox ranks within age groups, so a good time for someone in their thirties differs from someone in their fifties. The comparison that matters is the median of your category in your race, not a general average.
